A BRAND GOING VIRAL WITH NO SYSTEM TO CATCH IT.

That's the gap we found when we audited Skin Control; Australia's #1 selling pimple patch brand. Great product. Real momentum. A creative engine that couldn't keep up with either.
This is what we found, what we built, and what changed.

Built for e-comm brands with momentum but no system behind it. We audit, build, and hand over a fully operational creative system.

The Brand

Skin Control is an Australian-owned skincare brand founded in 2018 by co-founder Michael Porter and the brand has grown into a 67-product range spanning pimple patches, glass skin masks, anti-wrinkle treatments, acne serums, and face tools.

They've been covered by Marie Claire, New Idea, and Woman's Day. Celebrities including Martha Kalifatidis, Simone Holtznagel, and Tash Oakley have publicly backed the brand. They have  cleared over 56 million pimples in 2024 alone. By every commercial measure, this is a brand that's working.

The creative infrastructure? That's a different story.

The Audit

What's working The voice is there  "We cleared 56 million pimples in 2024" is a banger of a brand claim. The product names are smart. The founder is on camera. And buried in the TikTok data? The content that was actually driving their 1.1 million likes was UGC content, how to content, Not polished brand content. The audience was already telling them exactly what worked.

What's broken No unified visual system. Product photography inconsistent across 67 SKUs. The Skin School content hub,  front and centre in the nav  returns a 404. Product copy is flat. Celebrity co-signs aren't being leveraged. And despite UGC clearly being their highest-performing content format, there was no system to capture it, brief it, or produce it consistently. The brand was leaving its best creative asset completely to chance.

The real problem 9,875 followers. 1.1 million likes. That gap is not a talent problem. It's a systems problem. The proof of what works was right there in the data. Nobody had built a system around it.

This is an unsolicited audit and strategy build we developed as a proof of concept for brands at this growth stage

This is the creative automation workflow we build. It replaced a 7-day manual production process.

The System Built

AI Strategist Brief engine: trained on their brand voice and product catalogue. Includes a dedicated UGC brief template  so every creator brief, every seeding package, every "send us your skin moment" campaign is on-brand, consistent, and ready in minutes.

AI Art Director Visual prompt architecture for both creative modes. Real Life Mode is built specifically to match the aesthetic of high-performing UGC  so AI-assisted content and authentic customer content feel like they belong in the same feed.

UGC Production Pipeline: Brief creators → Collect content → AI-assisted edit and QC → Repurpose across channels → Publish. One piece of real customer content becomes six assets. Automatically.

Production Pipeline Brief: → Produce → QC → Publish. Automated. Brand-consistent. A month of content in the time it used to take to build a week.

Brand Consistency Framework: A living Notion brand bible. Prompts, palette, tone, UGC guidelines, shoot briefs  all in one place. Anyone onboards in under an hour.

Team Training: The system runs. The team knows when to use it and when to override it.

The Strategy

Platform: Skin that shows up for you. Confident. Results-driven. Never clinical. The brand that makes serious skincare feel like something you actually want to do.

Two visual worlds. One brand. Control Room;  clean, graphic, colour-backed. For ads and web. Real Life — candid, skin-close, people-forward. For social.

UGC as a core content engine: not an afterthought. The audit proved UGC was already their most powerful format. So we built the whole content strategy around making it systematic: a UGC brief library, a creator seeding programme, a repurposing pipeline that turns one real customer video into assets across TikTok, Instagram Reels, Stories, paid ads and email. The audience does the creative work. The system makes sure it never stops.

Five content pillars. Results. Routine. Founder. Education. Culture. Every brief starts here. No blank pages. Ever.
